Various Tidbits

- On March 31 the City Council is escaping up to Sky Tavern to discuss some goodies, including Budgetary Planning for FY09-10 and Forecast for FY10-11, City Council and Redevelopment Agency Board Planning/Goal-Setting/Priority-Setting and Team Building for FY 2009-10, Establishment of Priorities for FY2009-10, discussion and potential direction to staff, Update on Legislative Session, discussion and potential direction to staff and discussion about someone buying the Reno Sparks Gospel Mission building, Discussion and potential direction and/or action regarding an Interim Appointment as City Manager. Wow, a load to talk about. I wonder if the public is invited to this retreat or has any say in what the priorities of the Redevelopment Agency should be? Voice your opinion in my comments section on what you think the priorities should be for the City Council and Redevelopment Agency this coming fiscal year.
- Remember that shiny project called Boulevard South I was stewing over last year? The one going in South Reno near South Meadows Parkway? The project is going before the Planning Commission again, this time with some major changes, from majestic towers, retail and office with parking garage facilities to a senior care facility with surface parking, changing the lake setback from 63 feet to ZERO, and adding a hotel. Hmmm interesting indeed. The initial schematics don't look too bad, we truly need senior assisted living facilities, and by the looks of it, it will be a quaint one backing up to the 'lagoon.' Check out the drawings and schematics by clicking here (they start on page 13-ish of the PDF)

- Things are picking up over at Legends at Sparks case you missed the comment from CMOON in my comments area...Per the City of Sparks building department, The following retailers have been issued tenant improvement permits: Olive Garden, Ultra Diamonds, NineWest, Easy Spirit, Samsonite, Strasburg, Banana Republic, BCBG Maxazria, Carter's, Osh Kosh, BCBG Girls, Gymboree, Sketchers, Tommy Hilfiger, Harry & David, GAP, Forever 21, Adidas, GameStop and AT&T. In addition the following retailers have applied for permits and are currently waiting approval by the city building department: Ann Taylor, Bose, Vans, Off Broadway, Lane Bryant, Guess, Bath & Body Works, Jones-New York, Kasper, Nike, Converse, Cadillac Ranch Restaurant, and AT&T. Still no word yet on the first all-digital IMAX theater in the area, Dickenson Theaters, which to be honest, is what I am looking forward to most at the Legends mall.
