Daughters Cafe
Charming and cute were the first words that came to mind when I stepped foot inside Daughter's Cafe. Being a lover of old homes and architecture, I was in heaven here, as the entire restaurant is housed in an old Victorian style home near the Truckee River.
And if it looks like a home, it actually IS their home, thus creating one of the most unique dining experiences available in Reno. Because of the small location, the service is impeccable, and the food is home-made. REALLY home-made. Made by Barb, the mom, whom you will almost never see because she's in the kitchen. Sky and Bianca are the 'daughters' and you'll often find Bianca waiting tables.
Daughters Café is open for breakfast and lunch from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and then opens again for a short but sweet dessert and coffee serving from 7-9 p.m. The menu is small and concise and rotates often depending on season and day of the week. A unique dining experience not to be missed. Entrees range between $9 and $10, surprisingly affordable.
