Areas of Strength: Tune up and strengthen

Within the Entertainment Core, treat the paths, lanes

and walls bordering the ReTRAC trench as a

"focal streetscape" opportunity to create an east-

west activity spine (pedestrian-oriented, in

contrast to 2nd and 4th Streets) ­ to form a northern

leg of a "loop" with Truckee River paths. Extend

this treatment to Commercial Row and Plaza

Street between Virginia St. and Evans Ave. and all

north-south linkages between, to form a dense

and rich network of pedestrian ways. Activate

these ways with fronting ground floor restaurant,

nightlife, retail and art spaces.
