Downtown Episode IV: A New Hope
There are a lot of exciting projects queued up for downtown Reno. If even 3 of them come to fruition, downtown Reno will be a strikingly different area.
The first one involves the former Woolworths building. The plan for Woolworths is to convert the first floor into a full-size grocery store.

I have to admit, I was a little worried when longtime Midtown staple Rose's Cafe closed. That worry partially stemmed from my anxiety about having to find another good neighborhood sandwich shop to replace their unique creations, and the other was a vacant building plaguing recently-revitalized Center Street. A new tenant rapidly took over however, engaged in both an exterior and interior renovation, and is yet unnamed. Anyone know what is going in? Given the number of picnic benches and tables on the outside, I am guessing it's a new restaurant, but what?

There are some awesome places to grab a bite to eat in Reno, even compared to larger cities. We have our own Foodie group on Facebook, and some people get excited enough about it to make videos and blog about it. I am not sure on the source of the video below, it just popped up on my Reno RSS feed. The buzz on Facebook is it's a college student project. In any case, it's a cool vid, worth a watch, and promotes downtown and Midtown businesses from a younger perspective.

You might have heard about the controversy involving the lease agreements for Java Jungle, Sierra Tap House, and Jungle Vino?
