I have a few business tidbits I'm consolidating into one post for the sake of time on this beautiful Friday morning.
First up, a permit has been submitted for a tenant improvement project at 555 South Virginia, combining two units to create what the permit states is '4 SEASON VIETNAMESE FUSION'. The permit reads:
TENANT IMPROVEMENT. COMBINE SUITES 102&103 TO MAKE A NEW LARGER SUITE FOR A NEW TENANT. INSTALL NEW TYPE 1 HOOD AND MAKE UP AIR UNIT, RELOCATE FRONT ENTRANCE, INCLUDES ELECTRICAL, MECHANICAL & PLUMBING.
I'm guessing this is Rce Box Kitchen's old space (now moved into the Discovery Museum) and Boba T, which is also closed permanently. The two units are next to one another.
Over on Wells Avenue, some exciting news, the 'For Sale' sign for the Rapscalllion building at 1555 South Wells on the corner of Wells Avenue and Vesta, is gone! And there's a Planning Dept permit for a new business going in labeled "Cibo e Vino Restaurant and Wine Bar" - it apepars they are applying for a minor conditional use permit to sell bottles of wine, and the permit describes the business as a restaurant and wine bar that will also sell bottles of wine.
Also on Wells Avenue, Wyld Market set up a new shop at 1640 S Wells Ave at the roundabout. Wyld Market left Reno Public Market back in May, and I think this could be a much better location for them. Combine that with another shop, Tooti Frooti on Vesta that recently opened, and this area on South Wells is seeing some serious activity.
Speaking of Reno Public Market, the new tenant going into the recently combined retail units where Red Wing used to be, just east of Blue Zone Sports, will be a kid's gym called Kid Strong, at 299 East Plumb Lane in Suite 103. As a fitness guru, I can't tell you how excited I am about a program that teaches kids to be fit and active. Child obesity and inactivity is a real thing in this country, and anything that gets kids up and off the couch is a great thing. Check them out, they also have a camp page here.
While the interior of Reno Public Market seems to be struggling a bit still, the direct-access exterior stores are kicking butt, with Pet Station, Beloved Bakery, Kid Strong, Blue Zone Sports, Classic Skate Shop and more.
