Various Tidbits

04-28-09 - Sorry for the lack of posts this past week. I am workin' hard to finish up a major web site re-launch and also a new design for this site as well, with tons of new features including a new and improved calendar, areas where you can submit your own photos, and more.

Bryan Samudio from Channel 4 will be talking about the Kings Inn tonight on channel 4, although he will probably say what we already know - the Kings Inn owners are broke, have no money to do a project but are trying to plan one, and the owners are keeping the property up to code just enough so the City of Reno can't condemn it and demolish it.

Dickenson Theaters, the element of Legends at Sparks Marina I am looking forward to most, will break ground in June, and be complete spring 2010. It will be only all-digital theater in Reno/Sparks (closest one is Galaxy Theater in south Carson) and will also include an IMAX theater. There is a profound difference watching a movie in all digital...you don't have those little film hairs and other distractions on the movie screen, it's like watching a DVD on a big screen.

The Canopy Structure is being to take shape at the State Street Project, I will get pictures as soon as I can.

Northern Nevada Business Weekly has a blurb on the train trench cover retail project, again no new concrete news but some interesting reading if you aren't familiar with the project. Click here to read.

Wow a new design layout for the website, I am intrigued! Thanks for all the hard work you put into making this website a wonderful public forum/information center on whats going on downtown and in the redevelopment realm. I am constantly checking the site for the skinny on whats new and upcoming so keep up the good work!
