Photo Tour: 1039 South Virginia Street

by Mike Van Houten / Oct 18, 2016

Check out 1039 South Virginia Street!

This amazing building is currently under renovation, headed by Jack Hawkins.

When complete, the building will hosue five tenants on the ground floor, and offices upstairs on the second floor.

Guess who the first tenant will be? Under the Rose Brewing Company! They will be setting up a brewery and tasting room in one of the five spaces.

The building is super cool, with bowed ceilings, exposed rafters and support beams, and beautiful brick. Each tenant facing Virginia Street will have a open-air patio space with roll-up doors (featured in the photos below).

In 45 days construction should be complete, with Under the Rose opening sometime in April of next year, is the goal.

The remaining four spaces on the first floot plus a 1,500 s.f. office space above is still available. Contact Jared at 775-391-7366 for more info.

Hope UTR can start making better and more varied beer. The owners are quite nice but everything they make is just OK and no real stand outs on flavor. Very pedestrian beer and if you do that (like the English) you better be awesome at subtly and consistency. Also a lot of new breweries coming in the next year with people handing out money to breweries like the brew pub explosion and collapse of the 90s into 2000s never happened :/
