After a decade of living as a burned-out apartment building and easily one of the biggest eyesores in the Wells Avenue Conservation District, this 8-plex will get a new life as senior housing. Below is a before-pic, and then construction photos I took of the demo yesterday are below that. The exterior shell will remain in order to grandfather in the zoning that allows it to be an 8-plex. At most it would be a tri-plex and to qualify for the government grants available to pay for this, the building needs to be at least a five-plex.
