Sierra Vista: From Weekly Motel to Mixed Use Center

by Mike Van Houten / Mar 27, 2011

Sierra Vista used to be called the Executive Inn, and was a weekly motel located across the street from Washoe County's court buildings. However it underwent a major renovation over the winter. The 'front office' of the former motel on the first floor along with the driveway/loading area have been converted to retail space available for lease. The 2nd and 3rd floors have been converted to office suites each with their own private restrooms. Floors 4,5 and 6 are reserved for future use or custom configuration, and the top floor has been converted to 1 bedroom penthouse apartments ranging from 726 s.f. to 1,138 s.f., with amenities like granite countertops in the kitchen, tile shower/tub, and a laundry room on the same floor that the penthouse apartments share.
The former Executive Inn had a functional working pool on the rooftop of the 2nd level, it's unclear if they left the pool or converted it to a rooftop lounge/deck area. Yay one more weekly motel downtown gone! It seems like this is a high traffic area, located across the street from Washoe County's primary employee parking lot, and just north of Granite Street Eatery and Red Rock Studios, so provided the pricing is right, the ground for retail could be filled quickly.

Do they have a website or any contact info yet? I can't see any in the photo.

Isn't that condo tower on 4th st also called Sierra Vista? They should probably find a new name.

But I love this project! Hopefully we can transform our financial district into a nice place with projects like this and the State Street Project. We just need to do something with the enormous parking lot.

Sierra Vista Towers on w. 4th. st. are a little smaller in size (600) but we found them large enough & very nice inside.Everythings included except phone.Has extras like Pool & Fitness centerhowever what we liked most was their creative rent payment plan that makes it a little easier during these tough finacial times.

Sierra Vista Towers on 4th Street should be black listed, the HOA their is Reno Property Management and First American Property Maintenance, both don't have a clue in what they are doing. My advice is stay well away from Sierra Vista Tower on 4th Street. Trust me.
