Food Truck Fridays Create Mobile Food Court Downtown

by Mike Van Houten / Mar 9, 2012

It's been suggested numerous times on blogs and in conversations while waiting for a GourMelt or DishTruck sandwich but now it's happening...Food Truck Fridays in downtown Reno! The city has spent the last couple of weeks prepping the old CitiCenter site on the corner of 4th and Center for numerous reasons, including a police substation and possible welcome center, and one of the plans is to prep the perfect location for all the food trucks in Reno to park. There will be live music, a Tumblebus for the kids, and Great Basin Brewing Company will have a beer garden. It's the perfect spot for all the trucks to park in the former bus lanes around the property and there's plenty of shade and seating.

Food Truck Fridays starts in April and runs through October.

What a fun thing to do this summer to wind down from a work week! Let's hope it's done well and is well supported.

I just visited Portland and they had one of these in downtown. Lots of ethnic food, choices, and fun. Looking forward to Reno's version this year.
