Shakespeare At The Lear - Midsummer Night's Dream

Reno's art and culture scene continues to explode this summer and Artown hasn't even started yet. Enjoy a Midsummer Night's Dream FREE on the steps of the Lear Theater June 13 through 29 at 6:30 pm each Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Lear Theater is located on the river at 528 West First Street.

Bring your own low-back seating! Food trucks will be on-hand for nourishment.

A Midsummer Night's Dream is a comedy play by William Shakespeare, believed to have been written between 1590 and 1596. It portrays the events surrounding the marriage of the Duke of Athens, Theseus, and Hippolyta.

The play is put on by the Merry War Theatre Group and directed by Chase McKennaMerry War Theatre Group was founded in Los Angeles, CA in the Fall of 2010.   Our Premiere production was "Romeo and Juliet" at the Hollywood American Legion.  A multi-level, fast paced production, full of heart, laughter, tears, and hope.   Merry War Theatre continued to produce many other productions in Los Angeles.   In 2014 Merry War moved their home base to Reno, NV and staged a production of "Danny and the Deep Blue Sea" to sold out audiences, at The Good Luck Macbeth Theatre.
