Midtown Construction Update - Sticks and 777 Center.

Sticks

Three retail spaces are being built as the 3rd phase of the Sticks Project in Midtown.

777 Center Update

The structure is really beginning to take on an entirely different form, compared to its former shape as the Maytan Music Center.

Great. But they need to re-do that "Sticks" sign. You cannot even read it driving by.

Sticks sign seems fine as is to me. Certain aesthetic liberties should be welcome in the sea of monotonous billboard and standard fare shopping center signs.

Hi Mike, Love the photo update. Here is my latest diatribe about Sticks and Midtown. Mostly positive, some critique: http://goodlittlecity.com/blog/14134893 It has been really fun to see "Sticks" get slowly built. The next step is to get the rest of Midtown "filled in" so that we have a real Main Street. Thanks again!

Sorry, Brian, but you lost this reader at, "Only a couple of years ago, their Ace Hardware store was the only major draw for someone to visit Midtown outside of buying trashy lingerie or sex toys."

Thank you for reading Sara! I'm sorry I lost you. I guess my point was that the Ace Hardware was the only thing that brought me to that area when I first moved here in 2008. If I understand your comment correctly I think you are saying there were other things to bring someone to Midtown. I would love hear this history. You probably have a good point! I was not meaning to delegitimize the businesses that have been there for a long time. I think that there is a wider variety of things to do in the district than before and that is a good thing. I hope that midtown continues to grow new things that will serve the needs and interests of locals.
