New Residential Project Planned for Mill Street

by Mike Van Houten / Aug 16, 2016

Plans have been submitted to the City of Reno's Planning Dept for a new residential project on the 500 block of Mill Street, across the street from the almost-complete Whipple Distillery and Urbanito project of Haberae.

The plans call for the existing building at 560 Mill Street to be remodeled into lofts, and new buildings constructed where the fenced-off parking lot currently sits (photo below.)

They will be condominiums.

There will be 50 units, and the buildings will be three levels high.

Cathexes is the architect, and Michael Mardian is the developer, using the llc 560 Mill St. LLC.

Completion date is slated for Summer 2017.

You can see renderings of the project by clicking here for the planning document, and look on pages 25 and 36.

This is great! Now hopefully someone does something with the former Grant's Landing site.

Interesting! Does Mardian have any kind of track record? I like the chances of this actually being completed based on the fact I'm sure you found it by scouring the permit site (Less hyping done to the public).

I wish there is more traditional styledo high-density development. These funky post-industrial style will look ugly and dated 20 years from now. I really like the Victorian style of the townhouse northeast of Virginia lake. Timeless and elegant.
