Mountain Music Parlor Grand Opening on Center Street

by Mike Van Houten / Apr 15, 2015

All was not lost when Maytan Music closed on Center Street. A new musical influence is having a grand opening April 25 from 4-8 pm at 735 South Center Street.  Mountain Music Parlor offers classes, concerts, jam sessions and workshops in traditional American musical styles (bluegrass, old time). They have been open a while offering classes, but here's your chance to check it out yourself.

They converted a beautiful 1906 house into a music venue where performances, jam sessions, classes, lessons and special musical events will take place throughout the year.

It is their mission to present and preserve the styles of music that aren't often seen in "commercial" venues (TV, casinos, etc.). Music like bluegrass, traditional & gypsy jazz, old country, Irish and other styles of acoustic music. They believe that playing music is a wonderful way to enrich lives and build community.

I think they are a perfect addition to Midtown. Their grand opening flyer is below. Here's their web site. Come and support music in Midtown!
