ReTRAC Cover Downtown to Get Major Improvements by Next Summer

by Mike Van Houten / Aug 20, 2020

The Downtown Reno Partnership in their online forum on 8/20/2020 revealed their plans for the ReTRAC cover downtown between Virginia and Sierra Streets.

The Downtown Reno Partnership will partner with City of Reno to improve the ReTRAC cover by June of next year, just in time for events season.

The project will be in three parts.

The City of Reno's role will be pulling up some of the concrete, the soil, 20 trees, and irrigation

The Downtown Reno Partnership will put in 1600 plants and landscaping

And then the mural itself.

All will be done by June of next year. Check out the renderings below!

Why not actually help the city and beautify it by creating an actual green space/park? Do the events in the streets on the sides. Why all this work to try and make a slab of cement look good?

So, the trees will provide shade for...ornamental plantings, while the people on the concrete have none?
