Siena Pulls Large Permit for Hotel Tower Makeover

by Mike Van Houten / Jun 19, 2016

Siena/Renaissance Hotel has pulled a massive permit for interior construction of 214 hotel rooms and tower corridors. The permit reads:

REMODEL. NON-STRUCTURAL REMODEL TO 214 HOTEL ROOMS AND CORRIDORS FLOORS 2 THRU 8; NEW LIGHTING FIXTURES; FINISHES AND FURNITURE; INTERIOR DEMO; CONVERT 10 EXISTING ROOMS INTO HEARING IMPAIRED ROOMS; NO NEW PLUMBING

The permit value is $3,330,000.00.

The word on the street is they are close to finishing some model rooms to show 'corporate' to get approved for the remaining rooms, and I hear the design is very modern, and something normally reserved for top-floor hotel suites.

A huge bocce ball patio/courtyard is being constructed on the south end of the building, and paint work is beginning on the tower portion.

The Siena was fomerly a hotel/casino, remodeled from a long-closed Holiday Hotel/Casino. The plan is for a luxury non-gaming non-smoking hotel, Marriot's Renaissance Hotel brand, which include 160 hotels worldwide
