Meet Tonopah Lofts - Midtown's Newest Res Project

by Mike Van Houten / Jun 12, 2015

Meet Tonopah Lofts! This suite of duplex lofts will be located on the corner of Pueblo and Tonopah, in the southwest corner of Midtown.

There will be four duplexes totaling eight units.

The architecture, designed by ReReno's Mike McGonagle,  is fresh and modern. Each duplex features 1st floor garages, second-floor decks, and expansive third-level rooftop decks.

The third level on the inside opens up to the second-level below. If I had to draw a comparison, these are similar to Holcomb Place Townhomes, in that those units also have a 3rd level rooftop deck, and a second-level deck and open up on the second and third levels too.

This is a great addition to MidTown, can't wait to see them break ground!

Hi Sara Lee, it's Mike McGonagle from ReReno. I wanted to check with him first and make sure it was ok to mention his name.

are these units going to be for sale or rentals?

Lord knows the area needs it. The housing market in Midtown is a short time away from a "blood-bath". I popped into an open house for a rental this week and there was just a round robin of prospective tenants viewing it all once. Maybe a dozen people or more. I can see a distopian future where 12 enter, and 1 leaves, with so-so living quarters. On a side-note, those apts I pointed out on La Rue and Plumas awhile back, (2bd 2.5ba) are going for $1600+. I wonder which will be occupied first, Cottage Row or those apts?

I love the architecture style and the roof deck plans. I want a roof deck on our little 1930's bungalow!!! Great use of space, especially with the garage on the bottom of the unit taking care of the limited street parking issue. I really love everything that is going on in midtown and feel so positive in the direction that Reno is heading at the moment. Two thumbs up!

Midtown and the rest of Reno is on the verge of another real estate bubble. It will be interesting to see if these wonderful new units are priced to fuel the bubble or abate it.

These very attractive looking townhouses in the midtown area would appeal greatly to tax exiles looking for a comfortable abode.. Watch the hordes drive in from the Bay to make a down payment Maybe Reno can market them using the new direct flight by Jet Blue from NYC - lots of high taxes there, lots of potential exits... we will credit your airfare against the down payment ... There are many other "tired" cities (esp[ecially in NJ - Newark, Jersey City, Trenton, Passaic, Paterson, etc) which could take adavantage of Mike's inspirational comfortable modern living vision.

I've been trying to figure out if these will be for sale or if they are just leasing them out. Does anyone have an answer to this?
