Biggest Little Theater Festival Begins This Week

The fourth annual BIGGEST little Theatre Festival at Brüka Theatre is a showcase for original theatre pieces featuring traditional and nontraditional performances created by local and regional performance artists.  This small festival features up to 5 performances a day over 5 days in our downtown Sub-Bruka space. Each performance is under 50 minutes in length.  Groups receive a portion of the ticket sales.

THE PRODUCTIONS

HEAR & OBEY
Written and Directed by Sheldon Haun
A newcomer to a suspicious group that is executing a caper discovers the ways of its world.
SYNOPSIS:  Some things seem simple at first.  Al finds himself with some shady characters.  They seem to know what they are doing, but does he?  Some shady characters find out about Al. At last, a thing seems are hard.

NEW CANULA
Written and Directed by Gary Cremeans II
SYNOPSIS:  New Canula is a place...or maybe a state of mind...possibly just a view of a green meadow with horses scampering about in the springtime sun...whatever it may be...it IS peace and contentment...and isn't that what we all truly desire...? In this piece our characters find that you can't always do everything right, or even everything wrong, to get there...sometimes you just need someone else...

THE NEW DICK LAW SPINOFF SHOW

The Late Night TV Show Spin-Off you have been waiting for.
Richard Feekle is a down and out lawyer, who's trying to make his way in the world. Unfortunately, he doesn't get very much business. His assistant, and part time lover, Petunia tries to help him out, but Richard doesn't listen to her advice. His mother's boyfriend, Jeffrey, doesn't make it easier for him by making Dick do all of the chores in their trailer. Richard is stressed and doesn't know how he's going to make ends meet, until one day, a psychologist opens up a practice next door and pays a visit to Richard. opens up a practice next door and pays a visit to Richard.

L0 – FI STORY TIME LIVE: MODERN DAY BARD

SYNOPSIS: Todd Maudlin explains the way of the modern day “action bard” in this one-man show of micro stories, music, pathos, humor and geekery. Part Ted-talk, part concert, part spoken word microfiction, Modern Day Bard offers answers to these questions: ever have trouble finding your place to fit in?  Ever wonder what a “buff” is, and why you might need one?  Ever think you would actually like the sound of a banjo? Ever wonder what it would be like to hear 3-minute stories about headless poets. Circus dwarves, outlaw bikers, and exotic supervillians?  In a tidy 50-minute performance, Lo-Fi Story Time Live:  Modern Day Bard takes the chill route to entertain you and give you a +1 strength.
