Wow, did you read the comments on the RGJ website about this article? Are there really that many angry, jealous people out there? I know I can't afford a penthouse but I still find it interesting reading about those that can. I frequently look up and wonder what those Palladio units are like, don't you?

Perhaps maybe it wasnt FRONT PAGE level material, but anyone who has read Jonathan Wrights writings for any length of time knows he reports on the unusual (anything from Easter bunny peeps in a booby-bar to new bars and restaurants opening). I didnt find the article out of line at all with what he reports. It was certainly more interesting than say, a piece on the most expensive Montreaux home. Its also a hommage to a good percentage of the people buying these condos downtown; empty nesters who are done with the Caughlin Ranch suburban life.

Just looking at the first comment on the page (at the time of this posting) is enough to make my stomach turn. Is there a more arrogant, self-promoting person in Reno? He uses the council meetings as his own personal stage and thinks that he speaks for the residents when, in actuality, nobody that I know can stand the guy. He confuses the ability to call the local politicians to task with his DUTY to call them to task, regardless of whether there is an actual controversy or not.

Hi Slapdad! I removed the name from your comment but otherwise didnt touch it. Hope you don't mind, but I don't want to get sued by any overzealous activists! lol. Truth be told, I love our overzealous citizens. For a real funny treat, go to www.youtube.com and type in 'Reno City Council Meeting' and view the gems that come back.

Probably a good idea to remove the name. Ah....I had a long rant here, but I'll just say that he doesn't represent the views of all or even most of the citizens of Reno and leave it at that.

This article was interesting because i got to see how my neighbors are enjoying the downtown experience. I would have really enjoyed it if the article included other tennents with smaller units and compare the downtown life styles. I own a smaller unit, but Im always curious on what the penthouses look above me.
