Eldorado quietly begins $24 million update of some hotel rooms

Eldorado Hotel Casino has been planning to update their rooms for a hot minute now, and I've been following their journey via permits.

Back in February they submitted a permit to remodel three of their hotel rooms and turn them into 'Model Rooms', which could only mean one thing, they were planning a massive remodel of all their hotel rooms. But it wasn't really newsowrthy enough back then, sometimes hotels will engage in these mini-projects but then take years to actually move forward with the full-on remodel.

They concluded those remodels with a fire supression system permit (usually one of the last permits to get issued, and almost always after the building permits)

Now they are going all-in, with two additional permits to begin remodelling/updating both the hallways and rooms of the Vierginia Tower, floors 3-10. So, not the entire tower yet, but given the permit value, this isn't just a swap-out-tvs-and-coffee-makers remodel. The permit value between the two remodel permits below total $24,000,000! Keep in mind the permit value also represents a portion of the actual construction cost. So this is a major remodel. And this is just for floors 3-10. I believe the Eldo is actually much taller than 10 floors, so this doesn't even cover the remainder of the rooms.

Permit #1 reads:

REMODEL. RENOVATE CORRIDORS & GUESTROOMS ON FLOORS 3-10 IN THE VIRGINIA TOWER.

Permit #2 reads:

REMODEL. RENOVATE SUITES ON FLOORS 4-10 IN THE SIERRA TOWER.
