Exactly how many people do you know check in to a business hotel and yearn to finish off their day with a brisk game of bocce ball or hit the skeeball lanes? Where's the Chicago Beef stand that was such a hit at the developer's previous project? I hope this is a successful project, but it seems a bit out there to this business traveler.

Bocce Ball is exploding all over the U.S. in bars & parks and Marriott has added them to a lot of their hotels and it has been a big draw. I'd go play even if I weren't staying there. IMO, Reno needs more of this kind of stuff.....what else do you want to see in the lobby? Chairs and couches? Yawn.

Bocce & Skeeball is not my thing, but it sure is popular here in NorCal. A good clean hotel in downtown is what I’m exited about. I still love the casinos (and the vibe) in downtown, but the hotel rooms at those big resorts leave the guests wanting more. Both the new Marriott by the river and the Renaissance give new life for us downtown gamblers to have a clean (new) place to stay in walking distance of the casinos and at the river.
