Two Important Neighborhood Meetings

A few different hot items to report on.

Midtown Zoning Meeting

There will be a meeting this coming Tuesday the 16th to discuss and propose changes to the zoning and development standards for Midtown. This is the meeting where concrete things like density, parking requirements, and setbacks etc will be discussed. The city is asking for input from residents and business and property owners within and adjacent to the district. If you fit into one of these groups, or would like to provide input and be part of this discussion, please plan on attending!: The following notice is from the Reno Community Development Department:

The City of Reno is hosting meetings to solicit input regarding development standards for the newly created Midtown District within the South Virginia Street Transit Oriented Development Corridor. The District is generally bounded by California Avenue, Regency Way, Holcomb Avenue, and Humboldt Street and includes areas designated as commercial and residential sections. At the request of local residents, property owners, and merchants, City Council initiated amendments to the current development standards to reflect and retain the area’s character while supporting the goals of the Master Plan.
The two follow meetings will be held to discuss the potential changes to the standards:
1st Meeting: October 16, 2012
2d Meeting: October 30, 2012
6:00 p.m.

Wells Avenue Conservation District Meeting

Meeting to discuss the transformation of the Wells Avenue corridor into the Wells Avenue Conservation District. This meeting is part of an expanded schedule which you can find here.
The meeting is at noon at the 7th Floor Caucus Room at City Hall, 1 East First Street.
