K2 Apartments-Kings Inn Gets Some Color

by Mike Van Houten / Nov 20, 2015

Work is continuing on what will be the most stunning ugly-to-beautiful transformation downtown, K2 Apartments. I only keep mentioning the Kings Inn because at this point if I referred to it as just K2 Apartments, no one would know what the heck I am talking about.

K2 Apartments, for newcomers to Reno or this site, is the former Kings Inn building on the corner of 3rd Street and West Street.

The rumor is, it is to become luxury/higher-end apartments catering to millennials. Amenities include a restored roof-top pool and deck, and two levels of underground parking, if they utilize the parking the Kings Inn originally had.

Check it out, there are shades of green!

Here's a pic from an application or presentation or something, that I came across from a source that shows what the Kings Inn might look like. Sorry about the roughness of the pic, that's how it was sent to me.

This is one of the most exciting projects for downtown in a long time. Hopefully this will also help clean up the surrounding block. I'm wondering how long it will take for Belvedere to convert their vacant tower to apartments? The demand seems to be there.

Cool. But is all of Reno just going to be Green and Grey? I mean c'mon, The 8 on Center, 777 Center, The Cube building on Taylor/Haskell, now the K2? We're going to need a new color scheme here. (Although it is better than Seigel's Piss Gold)
