"Izabella is a band to keep your eyes on. Their Thursday [High Sierra] set ranged from Return To Forever-esque jamming to the sugary funk of Shuggie Otis’ ‘Strawberry Letter 23.’ For Izabella, ‘jam band’ means something positive but neither is it a straightjacket that demands every tune be stretched and bloated with improv. Their originals are dead solid with hooky lines. This is exultant, flowing music, and follows in the Bay Area tradition of great forebears like the Sons of Champlin. Plus, lead singer Brian Rogers sings with genuine soul, which is pretty bloody rare in this vocally challenged age."
Dennis Cook, Jambase.com

Izabella is a dance-inspired rock and soul band hailing from the Bay Area. This six-piece family of musical explorers is avowed for producing danceable, dynamic grooves. Izabella's live performances exude joy and inspiration for all in attendance. Their unique blend of fist-pumping guitar, funked-out keys, poly-rhythmic beats, and impassioned vocals is unparalleled in the genre.

Since its inception in Fall 2006, and after hitting the road full-time in 2008, Izabella has performed well over 200 gigs, including some key performances at summer festivals: High Sierra, 4 Peaks, Las Tortugas and Bobolink. This solid tour schedule combined with an elevated level of stage and light production has helped Izabella garner various accolades, including the Jambands.com title, “New Groove of the Month” back in August 2008.

Band members Sean Lehe (guitar, vocals), Brian Rogers (vocals, drums, guitar, bass), Murph (bass), Sam Phelps (keys, vocals), Jeff Coleman (keys), and Lucas Carlton (drums) are equally committed to evolving their sound in the studio as they are to achieving greatness on the stage. The band’s third album, “Drugs and Apple Pie," released April 11th was engineered by Oz Fritz, most noted for his work with Tom Waits and Les Claypool. Looking ahead, Izabella is thrilled to embark on its first East Coast tour this fall. As this musical collective continues to blaze their own trail, they remain in constant connection with their community of fans who ultimately make it all happen.

After debuting with her self-titled album in 2005, the Washington State-bred Carlile saw her fanbase mushroom with her sophomore disc, The Story, in 2007. Among the growing legion of Carlile fans is Elton John. "Brandi has an amazing voice," he says. "She's a great songwriter and has a tremendous career ahead of her." Proudly, Carlile says that John - who duets with her on the song, "Caroline" - played a key a role in her evolution as an artist: "I've been listening to country and western music my whole life and I was totally immersed in Grand Ole Opry culture, wherein the entertainers are usually not the ones who wrote the music. But when I was 11 and discovered Elton John, I realized that performers do write and perform their own songs, and I immediately went out and got a keyboard and started writing." When they recorded together, "I was just overwhelmed by the years, and by the influence that somebody can have on another person's life without even knowing it."

New Found Glory (often abbreviated NFG) is an American pop punk band based in South Florida. The band consists of Jordan Pundik (vocals), Chad Gilbert (guitar), Steve Klein (guitar), Ian Grushka (bass) and Cyrus Bolooki (drums). To date, the band have released seven studio albums, their latest, Not Without a Fight, was released on March 10th, 2009.

New Found Glory are renowned for their fast and energetic "pop punk" music. They typically use a traditional verse-chorus song structure and are known to combine pop melodies and chord progressions with fast punk rock tempos, hardcore-influenced breakdowns and sometimes gang vocals.

They have also been described as "punk revival", "alternative rock", as well as "emo", due to their expressive and often confessional lyrics. Third EP, Tip of The Iceberg (2008), was seen as their most obvious display of their "melodic hardcore" influences, while fourth album, Catalyst (2004), was regarded as being a "heavier" record. The sound was described as "combining their renowned knack for massive choruses with some of their hardest hitting riffs". Following album, Coming Home (2006), came in contrast as it drew heavy influence from "classic rock", featuring slower melodies and chord progressions. Compared to their earlier recordings, it was viewed as a "much softer album laden with piano riffs and acoustic guitars".

Professional skateboarder and lead singer of the punk band U.S. Bombs, Duane Peters went solo, sort of, as the frontman of Duane Peters & the Hunns. The group released Unite in 2000, the old-school anthemic punk tunes led by Peters' hoarse, half-barked vocals. The sophomore effort Tickets to Heaven was issued the following year. Wayward Bantams appeared in early 2002, after which former Nashville Pussy Corey Parks (Peters' wife) became the permanent bass player and the band was rechristened Die Hunns. Their fourth effort, Long Legs, was released in March 2004 and Peters issued The Duane Peters Gunfight a year later, which Parks did not play on. Die Hunns were back in action in fall 2006 with You Rot Me. ~ Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide

Blind since birth, Don Baker grew up in an upper middle class household in Hillsborough, just outside of San Francisco. With the assistance of his first real girlfriend, Linda Fletcher, who was the first person ever to give him a real sense of self-confidence, young adult Don moves to San Francisco to live on his own. On an agreement with his controlling and judgmental widowed mother Florence, Don's new living arrangement is on a two month trial basis with Florence not to visit Don within that time period. Florence thinks that Don's trial is doomed for failure. One month into the trial, Linda is no longer in Don's life. But free spirited nineteen year old Jill Tanner moves into the apartment next door to Don. The two have an instant rapport, so much so that they decide to unlock the door that joins their two apartments together. Previously married for six days when she was sixteen, Jill admits that she is not a commitment type of person, and the two decide just to have fun together. Their relationship however seems to be moving into one that is more committed. Coinciding with Don's new friendship is Florence's visit to her son, the visit against their agreement. Above the trial itself, Florence now has Don's apartment, its neighborhood and Jill to complain about, the latter in particular which Florence has issue. However, Jill, Don and Florence's view of their collective lives may change after a private discussion between Jill and Florence.

Performed by group Goodluck Macbeth.

Oh, what a story. Frankie Valli, who came to fame in 1962 as the lead singer of the Four Seasons, is hotter than ever in the 21st century. Thanks to the volcanic success of the Tony-winning musical Jersey Boys, which chronicles the life and times of Frankie and his legendary group, such classic songs as "Big Girls Don’t Cry," "Walk Like a Man," "Rag Doll," and "Can’t Take My Eyes Off You" are all the rage all over again. As the play enters its third sold-out year on Broadway, and two touring companies of Jersey Boys travel around the U.S., the real Frankie Valli is packing concert halls coast to coast.

It's been two decades since the Indigo Girls launched their career with their independently released debut album, 1987’s Strange Fire. Now, after entertaining millions of fans with their 10 major-label studio albums (nine on Epic Records and one, 2006’s Despite Our Differences, on Hollywood Records), Emily Saliers and Amy Ray have come full circle with the independent release of their new 2-CD album, Poseidon And The Bitter Bug, on their new label IG Recordings, distributed through Vanguard Records.

The new album reunites the Grammy-winning duo with veteran producer, arranger and keyboardist Mitchell Froom (Elvis Costello, Paul McCartney, Los Lobos and others), who worked on the Indigo Girls’ acclaimed 2006 release, Despite Our Differences. Longtime bassist Clare Kenny, drummer Matt Chamberlin and engineer David Boucher make up the rest of the core band but the sound is pure Indigo Girls, with uplifting, effortless harmonies; honest, passionately involved lyrics and infectious melodies.
