Are they really planning to have driveways out front, and no sidewalks, in the city center? Because if so, there is something seriously wrong with that.

Hey Ken sorry that was an outdated pic you were looking at. You can see in the updated one above that there are sidewalks. They haven't asked or any street/sidewalk abandonment so I'll assume for now those will stay as they are. Regarding the driveways/garages, the lot is so small I don't see how they could have done it any other way....I will take a picture of the lot on my dog walk today.

Anything new going on with these? I also noticed that the Thoma Lofts signage changed, there was an entry on this site about the company asking to build in phases, and now I can't find anything new on them.

The Project Launching is February 21st.

Really Bruce? That's awesome! Looks like you'll be the first to truly break ground in that area. It will be fun watching them be built! It's right up the street from me.

Downtown Townhome Development to Launch Construction to Begin on 16 Homes in Redevelopment Zone Reno, NV February 19, 2008 – Signaling continued faith in the resurgence of downtown Reno, a locally-owned development company is moving forward with construction of sixteen luxury townhomes on the block bounded by Holcomb, Pine, River Rock and State Streets. Townhouses @ Holcomb Place will be built on the edge of downtown near the Siena Casino/Hotel, and, along with planned developments nearby, will help transform the neighborhood. Reno’s Mayor Bob Cashell has said, "We wish to thank Management Development Services, Inc. for their investment in this tremendous infill project and their confidence in our revitalized downtown core." Councilwoman Jessica Sferrazza noted, “These long vacant lots provide a significant opportunity to bring more quality housing in a neighborhood environment to the downtown.” Reno Redevelopment Agency Economic Development Manager James Graham observed, “This project going forward is great news! Not only does this project bring sixteen desirable residences to the downtown, the development also funds significant improvements in the surrounding streetscapes, extending the feel of recent downtown improvements to a new area, and upgrades to the neighborhood’s utilities.” Townhouses @ Holcomb Place is unique as the downtown’s only townhouse development. Based on an award-winning Southern California design, and targeted for selling prices in the high $400K’s, each two-story home in the gated community is designed with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a rooftop garden area and a private parking garage. Amenities in the 2050+ square foot eco-friendly townhomes include bamboo flooring, carpeted bedrooms, porcelain tile flooring, stainless steel appliances, granite slab kitchen counters and other luxury amenities incorporated into a modern floor plan with vaulted ceilings. The principals of Management Development Services, Inc. (MDS), the project’s developer, have confidence that downtown Reno is a desirable place to live. “All the parts are coming together to make the downtown a great place for young professionals and others to work and live”, says Bruce Szathmary, President of MDS. Chip Evans, Vice President of MDS, shares that, “For the aspiring downtown resident, these townhomes are particularly desirable because of having two private parking spaces and the minimization of expenses and issues common to condominium developments.” Partners in the development include Naisbitt Construction, Lumos and Associates and Architect Al Salzano. Affinity Bank of California is providing construction financing. Maggie Stockman of Ferrari-Lund Real Estate will market the properties. Reservations are being accepted now. Groundwork for the development has begun with occupancy scheduled by the end of the year. Plans include a five-unit second phase on adjacent property. Mr. Szathmary and Mr. Evans are supporters of the charitable work of the Reno area’s Evelyn Mount. MDS will make a contribution to her charity from the sale of each townhome. A Project Launch ceremony is scheduled at the Siena Hotel Spa Casino Thursday, February 21 at 10AM. ************************************************************************************************************************ For information about Townhouses @ Holcomb Place: www.renotownhouses.com For sales information: Maggie Stockman, Ferrari-Lund Real Estate, 775.824.4518 For information about Management Development Services, Inc.: www.mdsnevada.com, 775.853.3649

There is an article in the paper with one interior photo. I come here and the only images you have are concept renditions? I want actual photographs. Is the neighborhood so bad that you can't put up photos?

DK, if you click on any of my downtown walk pictures, you'll see I take pictures of this project's progress at least once every couple of weeks. They just opened the interior of it to the media yesterday, they neglected to invite me to that event, so I don't have any interior photos of the project. If you are that interested in it, I suggest you go down to the site offices and request a tour. They will gladly show you the interior.

The Townhouses @ Holcomb Place are open Thursday thru Sunday during the hours of 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Prices have been reduced now selling in the high $200's. If you haven't had the opportunity to view the townhouses in the past, now is the time prices are great and so is the location. Within walking distance to downtown, movie theater, restaurants, shops, civic center, Truckee River Walk, Wingfield Park Amphitheater, Truckee River Whitewater Park, Rink on the River, Washoe County Courthouse, Pioneer Center for Performing Arts, Ace's Baseball Stadium and Automobile Museum. Don't miss out on this great opportunity to make the Townhouses @ Holcomb Place your home sweet home.

I drove by this project the other day. They are amazing. And look completely vacant? Does anyone live there?

Posted by: Tom - 12/11/2009 9:30:07 PM
I do not believe a single unit was sold. The developers defaulted on their construction loan in early October and Chase appeared to clear out around then.

The townhouses were sold individully through a bank appointed broker for just over $150,000 per unit.

How much a unit like this cost?
