Quick Tidbits: Neighborhood Shuffle in Midtown

Just a quick bit of news in Midtown today. Some of you may have noticed Creme closed its doors recently. I know, I was sure shocked because I eat here two times a week. I am addicted to their German crepes.

Anyway, turns out they are moving across the street to Theory's old location, and should be open soon!

I also heard a rumor that Sadie and Ivan from Midtown East bought 20 Cheney Street, and is moving Midtown Eats there, or may be opening a new venue there. Coupled with Hub and Death and Taxes and the soon-to-be-renovated Maytan building, this could be a hoppin' little block soon!

The Bridge opens soon, puts in real windows

The Bridge opens soon, puts in real windows

Yay! Those hideous glass blocks left over when the 1980s puked all over the facade of the BofA Building downtown are now gone! And in place, real windows. THis should help with the ambience of the soon-to-open Bridge restaurant and bar at 425 South Virginia Street.

Marmots Close on 567 Holcomb, Plan Renovations

The Marmots have closed on 567 Holcomb, or as I affectionally coin it, 'Pepto on Holcomb.' They will soon be releasing renovation plans!

Apparently, these are pretty cool apartments on the inside, even though the outside looks like someone puked up a combination of Pepto-Bismal and kidney stones.

Midtown: Drive-Thru or No Drive-Thru?

Being pushed through Reno Planning and City Council is a request for an alley abandonment for Pueblo Avenue surrounding the redevelopment project for Heritage Bank. This will allow for at least one drive through, possiby two, for this project, in a district designated as pedestrian-oriented development.

The Midtown Merc's are being awfully quiet about this, leading me to wonder if they are aware of it, or simply don't care/not on their radar.
