Downtown Reno and Midtown Breaking News
There are some awesome places to grab a bite to eat in Reno, even compared to larger cities. We have our own Foodie group on Facebook, and some people get excited enough about it to make videos and blog about it. I am not sure on the source of the video below, it just popped up on my Reno RSS feed. The buzz on Facebook is it's a college student project. In any case, it's a cool vid, worth a watch, and promotes downtown and Midtown businesses from a younger perspective.

I have to admit, I was a little worried when longtime Midtown staple Rose's Cafe closed. That worry partially stemmed from my anxiety about having to find another good neighborhood sandwich shop to replace their unique creations, and the other was a vacant building plaguing recently-revitalized Center Street. A new tenant rapidly took over however, engaged in both an exterior and interior renovation, and is yet unnamed. Anyone know what is going in? Given the number of picnic benches and tables on the outside, I am guessing it's a new restaurant, but what?18 Sep 2013
It looks like the space formerly occupied by boutique stores will be home to a new restaurant under construction next to Jungle Vino on 1st Street between West and Arlington.6 Aug 2013
JB Mapes downtown has completed their renovation and reopened as 'JB Mapes Bistro and Jazz Lounge.' The interior is very different looking from the original JB Mapes, which had a very classy tailored Manhattan style.5 Aug 2013
